Afghanistan and Bangladesh to clash in UAE Series
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has revealed the schedule for their upcoming series against Bangladesh, featuring three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will serve as the host country for this series. The T20I matches are slated for October 2nd, 3rd, and 5th, while the ODI series will be held on October 8th, 11th, and 14th, according to the ACB.
ACB CEO Naseeb Khan conveyed his anticipation for the contests. He noted the importance of the series in strengthening ties and providing high-quality cricket, even at a neutral location. He also expressed confidence that fans will be treated to thrilling games and high-caliber play.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury shared similar thoughts, saying they anticipate tough and exciting white-ball matches against Afghanistan in the UAE. He added that the tour offers vital competition following the Asia Cup and demonstrates the solid relationship between the two cricket organizations. He also appreciated the Afghanistan Cricket Board for organizing the series and for their ongoing collaboration.
Both squads will participate in this series soon after the conclusion of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025.
Earlier, the ACB revealed its 17-member team for the Asia Cup 2025, set to begin on September 9th. The eight-team event will kick off with a match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
The tournament includes eight teams separated into two groups. Group A consists of Pakistan, India, UAE, and Oman, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.
Series Schedule:
- Sharjah will be the venue for the T20I series.
- Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi will host all ODI matches.
