Civale Seeks Trade After Role Change Announcement

MILWAUKEE: Following the Milwaukee Brewers’ announcement that he would be moved to the bullpen, Aaron Civale has formally requested a trade, according to international reports on Thursday.

Jack Toffey, Civale’s representative, has reportedly asked the Brewers to facilitate a trade rather than utilize Civale in a relief capacity.

Civale stated that he is not trying to leave the team but believes he can better serve the game as a starting pitcher, which he considers his most suitable role.

Civale’s Statement

“This isn’t about wanting out,” Civale commented. “The team is fantastic, the coaching is excellent, and the players are great. I enjoy competing with everyone, but I feel I can still contribute significantly, and I believe I’m best positioned to do so as a starting pitcher.”

The report also mentioned that Civale, after consulting with his family, instructed his agent to communicate his desire to start, either in Milwaukee or elsewhere, to the Brewers.

Toffey verified that he has engaged in discussions with the team, noting that Aaron wishes to have the chance to continue as a starter.

Toffey’s Comments

“The discussion was quite professional,” Toffey remarked. “I respectfully conveyed that Aaron is very interested in the opportunity to continue his career as a starter. He is scheduled to become a free agent at the conclusion of the year.”
