Aamir Jamal Fined for Code of Conduct Breach in PSL Clash
Karachi Kings’ all-rounder Aamir Jamal has been penalized for violating the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Code of Conduct during Monday night’s thrilling game against Peshawar Zalmi at the National Bank Stadium.
Jamal received a fine of 5% of his match fee for a Level 1 violation of Article 2.5 of the PSL Code, which addresses the use of inappropriate language, actions, or gestures towards a dismissed batter that could incite an aggressive response.
The incident occurred during the 15th over of Peshawar Zalmi’s innings. After dismissing Hussain Talat, Jamal reportedly made an inappropriate comment to the batter, which was deemed unacceptable by the match officials.
The on-field umpires, Faisal Khan Afridi and Paul Reiffel, filed the report regarding the incident. Jamal took responsibility for his actions and accepted the sanction handed down by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed.
Notably, Karachi Kings secured their third victory in PSL 10, overcoming Peshawar Zalmi by two wickets in a tense showdown at the National Bank Cricket Stadium.
The Kings successfully chased down a target of 148 on a challenging pitch, reaching the required score on the third delivery of the final over, with Hasan Ali hitting the winning boundary.
Their innings got off to a shaky start as opener Tim Seifert was dismissed for a golden duck by Luke Wood’s in-swinger. James Vince (11) soon followed, putting the Kings under pressure.
Skipper Shan Warner played a pivotal role, scoring 60 off 47 balls and building important partnerships with Saad Baig (9), Muhammad Irfan Khan (10), Mohammad Nabi (14), and Khushdil Shah.
Despite Warner’s dismissal in the 17th over, which led to a score of 133/8, Khushdil’s unbeaten 23 off 17, which included three boundaries, guided the Kings to victory.
The Kings are scheduled to face the Quetta Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on April 25 for their sixth match of the tournament.
