Pakistan’s ANF Strikes Hard Against Drug Trafficking Networks

In a sweeping nationwide operation, Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has dealt a major blow to drug traffickers—both domestic and international. The force seized a staggering 231 kilograms of narcotics valued at over Rs 40 million, marking one of the most significant crackdowns in recent months.

The operation targeted multiple cities and transit points, disrupting well-established trafficking routes and dismantling organized networks. Intelligence-led raids resulted in the recovery of heroin, hashish, and cocaine, with several suspects taken into custody.

One of the standout busts involved international smuggling. ANF intercepted parcels containing high-grade cocaine, cleverly concealed in everyday items. These packages were traced back to foreign origins, underscoring the global nature of the drug trade infiltrating Pakistan.

Domestically, the force executed raids in urban centers and border regions, recovering large quantities of hashish and heroin. These seizures reflect the growing sophistication of local trafficking rings and the urgent need for continued vigilance.

All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997 (CNSA-1997), and investigations are actively underway. ANF officials confirmed that the crackdown was part of a broader strategy to eliminate narcotics from Pakistani society and protect vulnerable communities.

The success of this operation sends a clear message: Pakistan is committed to fighting drug crime with full force. With enhanced intelligence, inter-agency coordination, and public awareness, the ANF is stepping up its role as a frontline defender against the scourge of narcotics.
