PNSC Appoints New CFO

The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) has designated Syed Zeeshan Taqvi as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

According to a notice issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday, his appointment took effect on July 26.

Zeeshan Taqvi succeeds Syed Jarar Haider Kazmi in the role.

The company’s primary activities include shipping operations such as vessel chartering and cargo transport. PNSC also delivers commercial, technical, administrative, and financial support services to its subsidiaries and other parties involved in the shipping sector.

Last month, during the 460th board meeting on June 30, 2025, a shareholder director voiced strong disapproval of PNSC’s Human Resource practices, citing breaches of government regulations, specifically the ongoing employment of officers past the mandatory retirement age of 60.

The director’s formal objection highlighted consistent instructions from both the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the National Assembly Secretariat against extending employment beyond the retirement age.

Additionally, the note raised concerns about inconsistencies in official documentation, urging immediate corrective actions to ensure transparency, merit-based hiring practices, and adherence to legal requirements.
