Pakistan is embarking on a bold new chapter in its export strategy by launching “Pakistan Mart”, a dedicated permanent export hub in Dubai, designed to elevate Pakistani exports and dismantle longstanding trade barriers. Nestled strategically near Jebel Ali, this flagship commercial facility constructed at zero cost to Pakistani stakeholders through a partnership with UAE major DP World will provide over 500 exporters, spanning both established firms and SMEs, with a direct, efficient highway to international markets across the Middle East, Africa, South America, and beyond.
Pakistan Mart is much more than a warehouse it’s a full-fledged one-stop commercial platform, combining showrooms, warehouse space, retail units, and integrated e-commerce fulfilment centers. The model shifts control back to exporters, minimizing reliance on intermediaries, reducing commission expenses, and eliminating taxes or fees until a sale is confirmed making it a zero-cost entry point that is especially attractive to small-scale businesses eager to scale globally.
Targeted sectors that stand to benefit include textiles, garments, surgical instruments, sports goods, food items, perishables, and nutraceuticals all of which are recognized for their export potential and global market relevance. By combining physical display spaces with digital fulfilment systems, Pakistan Mart aligns perfectly with modern trade practices, enabling exporters to respond swiftly to global demand signals.
Representatives from both Pakistan’s National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and DP World recently outlined the project’s scope in a high-level meeting with the Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, along with officials including the DP World Vice Chairman and PM Coordinator. The minister praised the initiative as a transformative leap, emphasizing that it taps into key advantages Dubai’s geographical proximity, cost-effective logistics, and the presence of a strong Pakistani diaspora to elevate Pakistan’s trade infrastructure.
The Ministry of Commerce has also mobilized the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and related agencies to start exporter outreach, tenant selection, awareness campaigns, and logistical planning. Industry voices such as the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) have backed the project, calling it a vital tool for granting Pakistani SMEs a globally accessible, visible platform, and endorsing its potential to boost both export volumes and foreign investment.
As part of its broader export-led growth strategy, this initiative fits squarely within the government’s “Uraan Pakistan” economic transformation agenda, which targets long-term export diversification, fiscal stabilization, and digitalization. Pakistan Mart thus provides both a physical venue and a symbolic bridge solidifying Pakistan’s presence in global trade hubs and signaling a shift toward innovative, infrastructure-driven economic outreach.
In essence, Pakistan Mart is poised to become a trade gateway with global impact, supporting exporters, strengthening economic diplomacy, and positioning Pakistan as a dynamic player in international commerce.
