Pakistan Strengthens Pharma Ties with Cambodia for Regional Growth
Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industry is set to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia as the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) met with Cambodia’s Trade Minister to discuss deeper collaboration. The meeting highlighted opportunities for boosting exports, enhancing healthcare cooperation, and strengthening bilateral trade between the two countries.
Officials emphasized that Pakistan’s pharma sector has grown significantly in recent years, with increasing capacity to meet international standards. Cambodia, with its rising demand for affordable and quality medicines, presents a promising market for Pakistani pharmaceutical products.
The partnership aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, joint ventures, and investment in healthcare infrastructure. Both sides agreed that expanding pharma trade would not only benefit their economies but also improve access to essential medicines for millions of people.
PPMA representatives underscored Pakistan’s commitment to producing high-quality medicines that comply with global standards. They highlighted the potential for Pakistan to become a reliable supplier of pharmaceuticals in the region, particularly in areas such as generic drugs, vaccines, and essential healthcare products.
Cambodia’s Trade Minister welcomed the initiative, noting that stronger cooperation with Pakistan could help diversify Cambodia’s healthcare supply chain and reduce reliance on limited sources.
This partnership reflects Pakistan’s broader strategy to expand its pharmaceutical exports and strengthen economic ties with Southeast Asian nations. By building trust and collaboration, both countries are positioning themselves to achieve sustainable growth in the healthcare sector.
