K-Electric and Huawei Join Forces for Energy Innovation

K-Electric (KE) and K-Solar, its fully owned subsidiary, have formalized a collaborative agreement with Huawei Technologies. According to a KE announcement on Wednesday, the memorandum of understanding (MoU) aims to collaboratively advance novel energy technologies throughout Pakistan.

The partnership will center on these primary domains:

  • Large-scale and industrial battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure
  • Microgrid development

The MoU establishes a framework for shared feasibility studies, tech exchange, and pilot projects. These initiatives are designed to bolster Pakistan’s shift toward a more environmentally friendly and sophisticated energy sector.

Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of KE and Chairman of K-Solar, stated, “This alliance is in line with our wider investment plan and sustainability goals. It also strengthens the energy value chain through diverse, technology-driven assets. We consider innovation vital to guaranteeing Pakistan’s energy security.”
