The United States has intensified its trade restrictions against China by adding over 50 Chinese companies to its export blacklist. This move aims to curb China’s advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and military technologies. The Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced the inclusion of 80 foreign entities, citing national security concerns.

Among the blacklisted entities are subsidiaries of Inspur Group, China’s leading server manufacturer and a significant client of U.S. chipmakers such as Nvidia, Intel, and AMD. This action is designed to prevent China from acquiring advanced computing technology that could bolster its military capabilities.

The Chinese government has condemned these measures, accusing the U.S. of unjustly suppressing Chinese enterprises and violating international trade norms. This development is part of a broader strategy by the U.S. to limit China’s access to critical technologies, including semiconductors and AI components.

These escalating trade restrictions have also impacted the semiconductor industry, with companies like Nvidia experiencing stock declines due to concerns over reduced sales in China.
