On the eve of the 2025 Champions Trophy, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially inaugurated the newly revamped Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s cricketing infrastructure. The stadium, now equipped with advanced facilities including modern seating, larger scoreboards, and enhanced LED lighting, promises a top-tier experience for both players and fans.
Speaking at the inauguration, PM Sharif commended the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, for their relentless efforts in completing the renovations within just 117 days. Naqvi also praised the workers who dedicated themselves to the project, highlighting the transformation as a symbol of Pakistan’s commitment to international sports excellence.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by a vibrant cultural display, including live performances by famous Pakistani artists like Ali Zafar, Arif Lohar, and Aima Baig. This marks the beginning of a series of events, leading up to the highly anticipated tri-nation ODI series and the Champions Trophy.
