Talal Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, has reaffirmed the nation’s dedication to strengthening international cooperation on effective border management.
During a dinner hosted by UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, Chaudhry stated, “Pakistan is committed to strengthening global cooperation on effective border management and addressing the challenges of illegal immigration.”
Chaudhry is currently in England to participate in a meeting involving over 40 countries and organizations, including the United States, France, and Vietnam. The aim of this meeting is to coordinate global efforts in combating illegal migration and the people-smuggling networks that profit from it.
Addressing the event held in honor of visiting ministers, he emphasized the importance of tackling the challenges presented by illegal immigration. This is a key component of Pakistan’s broader efforts to enhance international collaboration on these crucial issues.
Chaudhry also engaged in discussions with Yvette Cooper on various bilateral issues, with a focus on reinforcing cooperation between Pakistan and the UK.
The minister is scheduled to hold further significant meetings with the UK Home Secretary and interior ministers from other participating nations.
The event will cover topics such as effective border management, the prevention of illegal immigration, and the enhancement of bilateral relations among participating countries.
In his remarks, Chaudhry conveyed that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have underscored the need for stringent measures concerning border security and immigration control to safeguard national stability and security.
