Islamabad is moving towards becoming a modern, smart, and sustainable capital as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) accelerates its development and beautification drive. In a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa at CDA Headquarters, senior officials including Member Administration & Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Deputy Director General Environment, and Chief Officer MCI Dr. Anum Fatima reviewed progress on ongoing projects and future strategies.

The meeting focused on initiatives to enhance revenue streams of the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) through innovative measures. Officials highlighted that digital streamers and SMD screens are being installed across busy city spots, which will not only boost revenue but also add to the city’s modern aesthetic. At the same time, Islamabad’s parking system is being upgraded to increase income while improving urban management. Trade licenses and other municipal services are also being restructured under a comprehensive strategy to maximize earnings.

A significant highlight of the meeting was the decision to make all revenue collection completely cashless through modern systems. This step aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in Islamabad’s administrative framework.

To enhance the capital’s beauty and safety, CDA announced the installation of permanent modern LED lights at key locations across the city. This initiative will improve Islamabad’s night-time ambience while ensuring reliable illumination in public spaces.

Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that all projects must maintain high standards of quality and sustainability. He directed departments to work in close coordination and adopt an integrated approach to transform Islamabad into a modern, clean, and beautiful capital that reflects Pakistan’s progress.

With these modernization plans, Islamabad is set to embrace a new era of development, where urban convenience, digital systems, and aesthetic improvement come together to create a city ready for the future.
