The Islamabad High Court has postponed the hearing of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s case regarding her release and repatriation until January 24. The hearing, led by Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan, was delayed after the Additional Attorney General, Manzoor Iqbal Dogal, was unable to attend due to his engagement in another court
During the hearing, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s sister, Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui’s lawyer, Imran Shafique, informed the court that no response had been received to the letter Prime Minister Imran Khan sent to the U.S. President, and it remains unclear whether the letter was even received
The court directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to cooperate with Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui and ensure the details of the Prime Minister’s overseas visits are provided by next week. Additionally, the court instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure that Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui meets with the U.S. Ambassador
