Leading from the front with swift, decisive action, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, once again proved why Islamabad is becoming one of the safest cities in the world. Under his visionary command, a potentially tragic child abduction case was swiftly resolved, and a three-year-old toddler named Muhammad Azlan was safely recovered.
When news broke that a young child had been abducted from Centaurus Mall, IGP Rizvi issued immediate and decisive orders to ensure the child’s recovery. His high-alert directives activated the full force of the Islamabad Police’s modern capabilities.
Responding with remarkable efficiency, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq took direct notice of the incident and formed dedicated special teams under the supervision of SSP Investigation, SSP Operations, and SSP CTD. These elite teams operated round the clock, leaving no stone unturned.
Using Safe City surveillance, advanced technology, and on-ground human intelligence, the police traced and arrested a woman allegedly involved in multiple child abductions. The child was recovered unharmed and reunited with his grateful family within hours an emotional moment that reflected the power of effective policing.
The toddler’s parents expressed deep gratitude, calling the Islamabad Police their “guardian angels.” IGP Rizvi and DIG Jawad Tariq personally commended the police teams, announcing certificates of appreciation and cash rewards in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Rizvi emphasized that Islamabad Police has successfully cracked several high-profile cases in 2025 with professionalism and solid evidence, ensuring convictions in courts. He reiterated his unwavering commitment to public safety and appealed to citizens to report any suspicious activity to the Pucar-15 Helpline.
This incident stands as a landmark example of proactive policing, high-tech coordination, and community trust hallmarks of IGP Rizvi’s progressive leadership.
