Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a high-level Command Conference of operational commanders at the Central Police Office, reinforcing the Islamabad Police’s unwavering commitment to public safety, community engagement, and internal accountability.
The conference was attended by all divisional DIGs, SSPs, and SPs, focusing on operational performance, crime control strategies, and organizational discipline.
Recognition of Exemplary Police Performance
One of the key highlights of the conference was the recognition of Islamabad Police teams for the swift and effective resolution of three major murder cases. IGP Rizvi revealed that police teams conducted a total of 129 raids across 9 districts in three provinces to successfully apprehend the suspects.
“These operations demonstrated courage, dedication, and professionalism. Your actions speak volumes about the evolving strength and capability of Islamabad Police,” said IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
To acknowledge this extraordinary performance, cash rewards totaling Rs. 9 million were announced:
- Rs. 5 million for one police team
- Rs. 2.5 million for the second
- Rs. 1.5 million for the third
Reinforcing a Public-Centric Policing Philosophy
During the session, IGP Rizvi emphasized the importance of a public-serving mindset in all aspects of policing. He directed officers to adopt a community-friendly policing approach, ensuring that trust, empathy, and service remain central to police conduct.
“The uniform represents protection and trust. Every interaction with a citizen is an opportunity to uphold that responsibility,” he said.
Focus on Training, Accountability, and Welfare
The IGP also stressed the need to upgrade the training system to further improve the professional capabilities of Islamabad Police officers in response to the evolving landscape of crime and security threats.
He issued firm instructions for:
- Daily team briefings by operational commanders
- Strong internal coordination between officers and their subordinate units
- Ensuring both strict departmental accountability and comprehensive welfare of police personnel
“Operational strength comes not just from tactical success but from organizational integrity, cohesion, and well-being,” IGP Rizvi noted.
