The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated legal proceedings against journalist Imran Riaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill for spreading a manipulated image that falsely depicted Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. The image, widely shared on social media, prompted a significant backlash. The FIA Cybercrime Wing has arrested three individuals involved in the campaign and is continuing efforts to apprehend others connected to the dissemination of this disinformation. Investigations are ongoing to hold those responsible accountable.
