In anticipation of Eid ul-Fitr 2025, the federal government has announced that salaries and pensions for March will be disbursed on March 27, earlier than the usual schedule. This initiative aims to provide financial relief to employees and pensioners ahead of the festive period.
A notification issued by the Ministry of Finance directed the Controller General of Accounts to ensure that all federal employees receive their salaries before the end of the month. Similarly, pensioners will also be paid their monthly pensions on the same date.
This decision is part of the government’s efforts to facilitate employees and pensioners ahead of Eid celebrations, especially considering that financial institutions will remain closed during the extended holiday period.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has indicated that the Shawwal moon is likely to be sighted on March 30, making March 31 the probable date for Eid ul-Fitr. However, the final announcement will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
This proactive approach by the federal government is expected to ease financial planning for employees and pensioners, allowing them to prepare for the upcoming festivities without monetary concerns.
