Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, is mourning the loss of his mother, who passed away recently. The news has elicited an outpouring of condolences from political, religious, and community leaders across the nation.​

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound sorrow over the demise, offering prayers for the departed soul and extending their support to General Munir and his family during this difficult time. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also conveyed his sympathies, praying for the deceased’s elevated rank in the hereafter and for patience for the bereaved family.​

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah joined in expressing their condolences, emphasizing the deep loss felt by General Munir’s family. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman highlighted the profound impact of a mother’s passing and prayed for her forgiveness and strength for the grieving family.​
