Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, met with prominent religious scholars and community elders in Skardu to discuss law and order situation and measures for sustainable peace in the region.

During the meeting, Amir Muqam expressed deep sorrow over the reported martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and offered prayers for his elevation. He also conveyed grief over recent incidents that resulted in loss of life and property.

Gilgit-Baltistan has long been a symbol of peace in Pakistan, described as a region known for harmony and natural beauty that attracts thousands of tourists every year, Amir Muqam said during the meeting.

Amir Muqam reiterated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued clear directives to ensure lasting peace in Gilgit-Baltistan while accelerating development projects across the region. The government will take strict legal action against those responsible for disrupting peace.
