Big Bird Foods Partners with Alibaba Group
Big Bird Foods Limited (BBFL), a Pakistan-based chicken processing company, has forged a strategic alliance with Alibaba Group, a Chinese multinational technology conglomerate.
BBFL communicated this development in its notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange earlier today.
According to the company’s statement to the stock exchange, “This agreement will provide BBFL with direct export capabilities to Alibaba’s global B2B e-commerce platforms, notably Alibaba.com. This will allow BBFL to present and market its poultry and processed food offerings to vetted purchasers spanning over 190 countries and territories.”
The company has described this collaboration as “a pivotal moment in BBFL’s international expansion efforts.”
They further stated that this partnership unlocks access to the global poultry market, which boasts an estimated annual value exceeding $350 billion and is experiencing continuous growth due to heightened demand for cost-effective protein sources across both developed and developing nations.
Big Bird conveyed, “The agreement is anticipated to significantly increase BBFL’s export revenues, bolster its global brand recognition, and foster sustained value creation for its shareholders.”
BBFL was founded in September of 2011 as a poultry processing facility, with the goal of supplying high-quality chicken products to both domestic and international markets.
Subsequently, on June 1, 2023, the company transitioned into a public limited entity.
