OGRA Launches Digitized E-Licensing System

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has introduced a comprehensive electronic licensing system for the oil and gas sector in Pakistan, marking a key advancement in digital transformation and regulatory effectiveness.

This platform, created in partnership with the National IT Board (NITB), facilitates completely digitized licensing procedures for all segments of the industry, which encompasses gas, LNG, CNG, LPG, refineries, and oil.

The initiative aims to streamline and expedite the acquisition or renewal of licenses, thereby enhancing transparency and operational efficiency for enterprises in the midstream and downstream energy markets.

According to an OGRA spokesperson, “This introduction represents a substantial achievement in our progress toward digital governance.”

“By minimizing paperwork and accelerating processing times, we are enhancing convenience for both applicants and investors, while also bolstering confidence in Pakistan’s regulatory environment.”

The new system is accessible from any location and allows users to apply online, monitor their application’s status in real-time, and benefit from an optimized approval workflow. This aligns with national objectives to strengthen energy security, promote private sector involvement, and stimulate increased investment in Pakistan’s energy sector.
