Salah Secures Second PFA Player of the Year Title
Mohamed Salah of Liverpool has been recognized as the Premier League’s best player for the season, marking his outstanding performances throughout the campaign.
Salah’s contributions were instrumental in Liverpool securing their second Premier League title.
Adding to the accolades, Ryan Gravenberch, also from Liverpool, was named the Young Player of the Season.
Salah’s impressive statistics include 28 goals and 18 assists, playing a pivotal role in the club’s title victory achieved with four matches remaining. Arne Slot coaches the winning side.
Previously honored in 2017-18, Salah joins an elite group of players, including Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, and Kevin De Bruyne, who have won the award multiple times.
The Egyptian forward is also a leading contender for the Golden Boot, currently holding a five-goal advantage over Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak as they approach the final match of the season.
Earlier this week, Mohamed Salah, who was recently named the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year for the third time, expressed his belief that he has his greatest opportunity to win the Ballon d’Or.
“I would say I never had a season like this and winning big trophies so I would say this is my best chance to get it right now while I’m in the club because it’s been a crazy year, a crazy season with a trophy,” he said. “It’s given me a good chance.”
Furthermore, he has become the highest-scoring international player in Premier League history and has committed to Liverpool until 2027 through a new two-year contract extension.
