Tragic Loss: Young Victim Dies After Khuzdar School Bus Attack

QUETTA: A 12-year-old student who was wounded in the terrorist assault on a school bus in Khuzdar, has tragically died from her injuries at a Quetta hospital on Thursday.

A devastating explosion occurred near Zero Point in Khuzdar, Balochistan, targeting a school bus. The attack resulted in the immediate deaths of five individuals, including three students, and left dozens injured. The incident sparked widespread condemnation both nationally and internationally on Wednesday.

The hospital administration confirmed that the young victim had been transported to Quetta for specialized medical care the previous day.

Hospital authorities also verified that 35 additional individuals wounded in the Khuzdar explosion are still hospitalized, with five listed in critical condition.

In the aftermath of the Khuzdar bus attack, a total of 36 injured individuals were initially transferred to Quetta to receive medical treatment.

Meanwhile, an official police report (FIR) concerning the terrorist act targeting the school bus in Khuzdar has been officially registered at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Khuzdar.

CTD representatives have stated that the case has been initiated on behalf of the police department and encompasses charges related to murder, attempted murder, in addition to sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Reports indicate that terrorists targeted the school bus as it traveled toward the educational institution carrying over 40 students, within a district of Balochistan, a province significantly impacted by terrorism.

Following the attack, high-ranking officials have affirmed the nation’s resolve to eradicate terrorism. They emphasized the importance of demonstrating a firm national determination to combat externally sponsored terrorism and decisively conclude the fight.

According to an official statement released during a review of the law-and-order situation in Quetta, security forces and law enforcement agencies are committed to relentlessly pursuing all individuals implicated in this act of barbarism.

Government sources allege that militants supported by foreign entities perpetrated the attack. This incident occurred almost two weeks after both sides agreed to a ceasefire aimed at ending the severe conflict experienced in recent decades.
