Top-seeded Ashab Irfan secured a decisive win against Leo Chung of Hong Kong with scores of 11-7, 11-5, 11-5. The match lasted 35 minutes, showcasing Irfan’s dominance.

Hamza Khan’s Comeback

Sixth-seeded Hamza Khan overcame an initial setback, defeating Egypt’s Shady Sherbiny. After losing the first game, Khan rallied to win the match 3-1, with scores of 5-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-4, in a 48-minute battle.

Upcoming Matches

Khan, aged 20, is set to compete against Japan’s fourth-seeded Tomo Endo in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Irfan will face Joachim Chuah of Malaysia.

Tournament Details

The Adelaide tournament is part of the PSA Challenger Tour 9 and features a total prize pool of USD 9,000, distributed among both male and female competitors. Both Pakistani athletes benefited from first-round byes in the 24-player competition.
