Pakistan and Bangladesh Agree on T20I Series Schedule
LAHORE: The proposed schedule for Bangladesh’s forthcoming three-match T20I tour to Pakistan has been revealed. All games are slated to occur at a single location, the Gaddafi Stadium.
Sources indicate that the initial match is scheduled for May 27, with the subsequent two games planned with a one-day interval, concluding on May 31.
Insiders also confirm the Bangladesh team, under the leadership of newly appointed T20I captain Litton Das, is expected to land in Pakistan on May 24, preceding the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 final by one day.
The series confirmation follows a successful meeting between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) representatives, including Chairman Nazmul Abedeen and President Farooq Ahmed.
Following constructive conversations, both cricket boards consented to proceed with the series despite previous reservations.
Originally, the Bangladesh squad was expected to arrive in Pakistan in two groups on May 21, with a five-match T20I series commencing on May 25 in Faisalabad.
However, alterations in logistics and security considerations have resulted in a modified three-match series.
Bangladesh will be captained by seasoned wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das, who took over the captaincy earlier this year after Najmul Hossain Shanto’s resignation.
Off-spinner Mahedi Hasan has been designated as vice-captain for the tours of both the UAE and Pakistan.
