Ancelotti Confirmed as Brazil’s Head Coach Until 2026 World Cup

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) officially announced on Monday that Carlo Ancelotti will take the helm as the head coach for their national men’s team.

Ancelotti, celebrated for securing 13 major titles with Real Madrid, including the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, La Liga titles, and Copa Del Rey, will depart from the club when the current season concludes.

Upon his exit from Los Blancos, the Italian manager is set to lead the Brazil men’s football team until the FIFA Men’s World Cup in 2026.

Ancelotti’s inaugural assignment will consist of two qualifying matches against Ecuador and Paraguay scheduled for the upcoming month.

In a statement, the CBF conveyed, “The most esteemed national team in football history will now be guided by the world’s most accomplished coach. Carlo Ancelotti, a name synonymous with remarkable achievements, was unveiled this Monday as the new coach of the Brazilian national team. He will be at the helm for Brazil through the 2026 World Cup and will commence coaching the team in the next pair of qualifying games against Ecuador and Paraguay next month.”

Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF, stated, “Appointing Carlo Ancelotti to lead Brazil signifies more than just a strategic maneuver. It conveys to the world our resolute determination to reclaim the top position. He stands as the greatest coach in history, now leading the foremost national team globally. Together, we shall inscribe new, glorious chapters for Brazilian football.”

Reports indicate that Carlo Ancelotti is anticipated to be succeeded at Real Madrid by Xabi Alonso, a former midfielder for the club, who has reportedly inked a three-year agreement.

Alonso formally declared his departure from Leverkusen during a press conference held on Friday, marking the conclusion of his near three-year tenure, during which he transformed the club into a formidable force.

He steered Leverkusen to an undefeated season and secured a domestic double, solidifying his reputation as one of Europe’s most promising managerial talents.
