Domestic Cricket Events to Resume
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has verified that domestic cricket activities, which were temporarily on hold due to the country’s security situation, will recommence.
The Regional Intra-District Challenge Cup and the Inter-District U19 One-Day Tournament will proceed starting today, ensuring continuous activity at the grassroots level.
The President’s Trophy Grade II, which was also put off, is now scheduled to restart on May 14.
Key Dates for President’s Trophy Grade II
- Quarter-finals: May 19–21
- Semi-finals: May 24–26
- Final: May 28–31
Previously, the PCB had postponed multiple domestic tournaments, including the President’s Trophy Grade II, the Regional Intra-District Challenge Cup, and the Inter-District U19 One-Day Tournament, because of growing security issues.
On May 10, the board communicated that these competitions would pick up where they left off, with updated schedules to be announced.
In other news, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 is anticipated to resume sometime between May 16 and 18.
Efforts are ongoing to finalise the updated timetable, and an official announcement is expected soon.
If the PSL matches restart on May 16, all teams are expected to gather in Islamabad by the evening of May 14.
The tournament faced postponement during its concluding phase, with eight matches still to be played, primarily due to cross-border issues.
With the announcement of a ceasefire, there is a strong likelihood that both PSL 10 and IPL 2025 will resume shortly.
