Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is preparing to relaunch its direct flights to the United Kingdom within the next two to three months. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made this announcement during a Senate session, detailing the government’s efforts to bring PIA back to full operational strength. A team of UK aviation inspectors is scheduled to visit Pakistan by the end of January to carry out a thorough evaluation of the airline’s readiness.
PIA has faced operational challenges, including a series of grounded aircraft, but the government is committed to ensuring the return of flights between Pakistan and the UK, vital for both tourism and trade. This announcement follows recent successes in reestablishing services to other European destinations. The resumption of UK flights is a key milestone in PIA’s recovery plan.
