Pakistani Mountaineers Embark on Challenging Expeditions in Nepal
Four accomplished Pakistani mountaineers, Sajid Sadpara, Naila Kiani, Sirbaz Khan, and Wajidullah Nagri, have commenced demanding climbing endeavors in Nepal. Their objectives include reaching the summits of some of the world’s highest mountains, notably Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Dhaulagiri.
Sajid Sadpara Attempts Dhaulagiri
Sajid Ali Sadpara, son of the late mountaineering icon Muhammad Ali Sadpara, is currently focused on ascending Dhaulagiri (8,167m), which ranks as the seventh-highest peak globally. He arrived at the mountain’s base camp on April 6 and completed his acclimatization phase with an ascent to Camp 3 before descending.
Reports indicate that Sadpara is awaiting optimal weather conditions and anticipates initiating his summit attempt around May 9. Staying true to the Alpine style, Sadpara intends to scale Dhaulagiri without using supplementary oxygen or high-altitude porters. A successful climb would mark his ninth summit of an 8,000m+ peak under such strenuous conditions. His prior achievements include conquering K2, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, and both Gasherbrums.
Naila Kiani Aims for Kanchenjunga
Naila Kiani, recognized as Pakistan’s most successful female mountaineer, is on her way to climb Kanchenjunga (8,586m), the world’s third-highest mountain. Her journey to the base camp is expected to take approximately one week. Having already summited 11 of the 14 highest mountains worldwide, Kiani holds the distinction of being the first and only Pakistani woman to accomplish this.
Sirbaz Khan Pursues Final Summit
Also targeting Kanchenjunga is Sirbaz Khan, who previously conquered Annapurna (8,091m) without oxygen on April 7. Sirbaz has successfully climbed 13 of the 14 eight-thousanders, predominantly without the aid of supplemental oxygen. Kanchenjunga represents the final peak in his ambition to complete the entire list using Alpine style.
Wajidullah Nagri Prepares for Everest
Wajidullah Nagri has arrived at Everest Base Camp in preparation for his summit attempt. He has previously scaled five prominent Pakistani peaks, including both K2 and Nanga Parbat.
