PSL Celebrates 300th Match Milestone

LAHORE: A major landmark was achieved by the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday evening as the 300th match was played between Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Notably, the Gladiators participated in the league’s opening game on February 4, 2016, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, securing victories in both the inaugural and 300th matches.

Across ten exciting seasons featuring 300 games, the PSL has presented fans both in Pakistan and globally with the opportunity to witness high-caliber cricket, spotlighting exceptional talent and unforgettable moments.

“We take immense pride in marking the 300th match in HBL PSL history. Since its inception in 2016, the HBL PSL has consistently thrived, with its decade-long success demonstrating the superb quality of cricket and the strong confidence of fans and players in the brand,” remarked Naseer.

He further stated, “My gratitude goes out to everyone involved with the HBL PSL over these ten years, especially the fans, franchises, and commercial partners. Their dedication is the reason the league continues to flourish and provide entertainment season after season.”

Key Performers in PSL History

Babar Azam, having participated in all ten seasons, stands out as one of the league’s top performers. He holds records for the most runs (3,621 in 96 matches), half-centuries (34), and fours (401).

Azam also leads in appearances and has secured the most catches (49) in PSL history.

Hasan Ali is the leading bowler with 121 wickets in 88 matches. Jason Roy from England holds the record for the highest individual score, scoring 145 against Peshawar Zalmi in 2023. Fakhar Zaman tops the charts for sixes, having hit 117 in 90 matches.

Ravi Bopara’s 6-16 in the inaugural season remains the best bowling performance in a single match.

Mohammad Rizwan is the leading wicketkeeper with 84 dismissals and has also scored 2,749 runs. Sarfaraz Ahmed, former captain of Quetta Gladiators, holds the record for captaining the most matches (80) and securing the most wins as captain (38).

Aleem Dar, the legendary umpire who will retire at the end of this season, has officiated the most PSL matches, totaling 81 across 10 seasons.
