Public Holiday Announced in Sindh for Labour Day

The Sindh government has declared Wednesday, May 1st, as a public holiday throughout the province to commemorate International Labour Day.

According to an official statement from the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, all governmental and semi-governmental offices across Sindh will be closed on this day.

Furthermore, all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities located within the province, will also remain shut in observance of the holiday.

Globally, Labour Day, also referred to as May Day, is celebrated annually on May 1st. This day serves to demonstrate support for labourers and to recognize the importance of workers’ rights.

The aim of this observance is to implement measures that safeguard job security for labourers and industrial employees, protecting them from exploitation.
