Pakistan and Bangladesh T20I Series: Provisional Schedule Released

LAHORE: The preliminary itinerary for the much-awaited five-match T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh has been disclosed.

Information indicates that the series is slated to commence in Faisalabad with a pair of matches, succeeded by the remaining three contests in Lahore.

The Bangladesh squad is anticipated to arrive in Pakistan on May 21, with the inaugural T20I match planned for May 25 at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.

The second match will also take place at the same location on May 27. Subsequently, the series will move to Lahore, where the final three matches are scheduled for May 30, June 1, and June 3.

Sources have further verified that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shortlisted a group of five players as possible selections for the series, comprising four experienced players and one up-and-coming talent.

The players being considered are Sahibzada Farhan, Hussain Talat, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, along with the promising young bowler Ali Raza.

Notably, Pakistan and Bangladesh have previously competed in 19 T20 international matches, with Pakistan having won 16 and Bangladesh securing victory in only three.

The most recent T20I series involving both teams was during the 2022–23 tri-nation series held in New Zealand, which also included the host nation.

Pakistan claimed the title by defeating New Zealand in the final.
