Warriors Secure Commanding Lead with Game 4 Victory

SAN FRANCISCO: In a captivating Game 4 showdown at the Chase Center on Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors edged out the Houston Rockets with a 109-106 victory, bringing them closer to the next round of the NBA Playoffs.

This win provides the Warriors with a significant 3-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series.

Jimmy Butler shone brightly, amassing 27 points, securing five rebounds, and dishing out six assists. Brandin Podziemski also played a pivotal role, contributing 26 points, five assists, and six rebounds across 40 minutes on the court.

“Jimmy’s ability to draw fouls, getting to the free-throw line 12 times, really propelled us, especially in the final quarter,” commented Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. “It was an outstanding effort from our team against a formidable opponent that tested us thoroughly. This is a crucial win.”

After a sluggish start, where they trailed 26-21 after the first quarter, the Warriors rallied with a 36-point second quarter to seize the lead.

Despite a determined effort by the Rockets, who put up 31 points in the third quarter, Golden State’s resilience and the strength of their bench proved to be key factors in the game’s decisive moments.

Stephen Curry contributed 17 points and three assists, offering vital leadership during the crucial final minutes. Quinten Post and Gary Payton II added valuable points off the bench, scoring 13 and 12 respectively.

On the defensive end, Draymond Green anchored the Warriors with eight rebounds and six assists, playing a crucial role in limiting Houston’s offensive capabilities and maintaining composure as the Rockets attempted a late comeback.

Although the Rockets put up a strong fight, Golden State’s experience and effective execution in the game’s final stages ultimately secured the win.

The Warriors will aim to conclude the series in Game 5, to be held once again at the Chase Center.

With the advantage of playing on their home court and the momentum in their favor, Golden State hopes to secure their place in the second round.
