Celtics Defeat Magic, Take 3-1 Series Lead

ORLANDO: The Boston Celtics, the reigning champions, demonstrated their dominance by defeating the Orlando Magic with a score of 107-98 in Game 4 of the first round of the NBA playoffs. The match took place at the Kia Center on Monday.

This victory puts the Celtics ahead with a 3-1 advantage in the Eastern Conference series, a best-of-seven competition.

Jayson Tatum delivered a remarkable performance for the visiting team, amassing 37 points and securing 14 rebounds over 42 minutes on the court.

There were initial worries regarding Tatum’s fitness, especially after he had to sit out Game 2 due to a wrist injury. However, Tatum surpassed expectations and emerged as the game’s highest scorer with 37 points.

He contributed 21 points in the first half. However, Orlando’s aggressive gameplay posed challenges for Boston during the second half.

Tatum Speaks on Playing Through Pain

“It’s simply a matter of managing pain,” Tatum explained. “The treatment has been consistently improving, and I felt capable of playing.”

Besides Tatum’s contributions, Jaylen Brown scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis added 19 points in just 22 minutes before exiting the game.

Derrick White also played a crucial role, scoring 18 points and securing seven rebounds, helping to sustain Boston’s momentum.

Veteran forward Al Horford contributed eight points and six rebounds, utilizing his extensive experience on the court. Payton Pritchard added six points coming off the bench.

Despite the Magic’s efforts and energetic start, the Celtics’ composure and postseason expertise enabled them to seize control in the latter half of the game.

Boston outscored Orlando in the final two periods, solidifying their victory.

Game 5 will move to Boston, giving the Celtics an opportunity to conclude the series in front of their fans.
