Sri Lankan Stocks Close Higher
Sri Lankan stock markets concluded trading on Monday with gains, primarily due to the upward movement of utility sector stocks.
The CSE All-Share index experienced a slight decrease of 0.44%, concluding at 15,811.47 points.
Nation Lanka Finance and Alpha Fire Services led the percentage gains on the CSE All-Share index, soaring by 100% and 12.5%, respectively.
The index’s trading volume decreased to 89.5 million shares, down from the prior session’s 125.5 million shares.
The turnover in the equity market increased to 2.79 billion Sri Lankan rupees (equivalent to $9.31 million), a rise from the 2.44 billion rupees recorded in the previous session, exchange data indicates.
Foreign investment showed net sales, with stocks valued at 314.8 million rupees divested, while domestic investors emerged as net buyers, acquiring shares worth 2.58 billion rupees, based on available information.
