Customs Values Revised for Milk Powder Imports

The Directorate General of Customs Valuation in Karachi has updated the customs values for imported skimmed milk powder, instant milk powder, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated filled milk.

A new valuation ruling (1998 of 2025) has been officially released by the agency in connection to the update.

The revised customs values will be in effect for imports originating from the United States, Canada, Turkey, Iran, New Zealand, Australia, and Eastern Europe.

Importers had argued that the elimination of exemptions on these items led to decreased import volumes, resulting in a downward trend in international market prices, thus necessitating a downward revision of the values.

The ruling indicated that the previous Valuation Ruling was over a year old. Consequently, in accordance with an analysis of imported data, prevailing market trends, price disparities, and customs values, a process to determine the customs values of the specified goods was initiated under Sections 25 and 25A of the Customs Act 1969.
