Security Forces Neutralize Six Terrorists in Bannu IBO
During an intelligence-led operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu District, security forces successfully eliminated at least six terrorists and wounded four others, as confirmed by the military’s media wing on Friday.
According to a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on the night of April 23-24, 2025, in response to reported terrorist presence in the Bannu district.
The statement indicated that security forces effectively targeted the terrorists’ location, resulting in an intense exchange of fire that led to the deaths of six militants.
A thorough sanitisation operation was carried out to ensure the elimination of any remaining terrorists in the area. The statement emphasized the unwavering determination of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate terrorism from the country.
Since the return of the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2021, Pakistan has experienced a marked increase in attacks, predominantly in KP and Balochistan. Islamabad asserts that hostile groups are planning these attacks from Afghan territory.

The data further revealed that 74 militant attacks were recorded across the nation, which caused 91 fatalities, including 35 security personnel, 20 civilians, and 36 militants. Furthermore, 117 individuals were injured, encompassing 53 security forces personnel, 54 civilians, and 10 militants.
KP was identified as the most affected province, followed by Balochistan. In the settled districts of KP, militants perpetrated 27 attacks, resulting in 19 deaths, including 11 security personnel, six civilians, and two militants.
The tribal districts of KP (formerly Fata) experienced 19 attacks, which caused 46 deaths, including 13 security personnel, eight civilians, and 25 militants.
