Sindh Announces Public Holiday for Labour Day

The Sindh government has declared May 1 (Wednesday) as a public holiday throughout the province in observance of International Labour Day.

According to an official announcement from the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, all governmental and semi-governmental offices across Sindh will be closed on this day.

Additionally, all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities located within the province, will also remain closed for the holiday.

International Labour Day, also known as May Day, is commemorated globally on May 1st each year. It serves as an occasion to demonstrate support for labourers and to acknowledge the importance of workers’ rights.

The aim of this observance is to promote initiatives focused on safeguarding the employment of labourers and industrial workers, protecting them from potential exploitation.
