Tragic Bus Accident in Jamshoro Claims Multiple Lives
At least sixteen individuals have died, and numerous others have been wounded after a passenger bus careened into a ravine near the Bola Khan police station in Sindh’s Jamshoro district, according to area law enforcement officials.
Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Qadri stated that the unfortunate bus was transporting laborers from the Bheel community who were journeying home after concluding their work harvesting wheat in Balochistan.
The devastating event transpired in close proximity to the Bola Khan police station, leaving over two dozen passengers injured.
Authorities have verified that a minimum of twelve bodies were retrieved from the accident location. Regrettably, four of the injured passengers passed away at Liaquat University Hospital in Jamshoro, increasing the total number of fatalities to sixteen, according to hospital sources.
Rescue personnel have indicated that five of the injured have been transported to Civil Hospital in Hyderabad. Among the deceased, it has been reported that four are children.
A rescue officer further stated that one of the injured is currently in critical condition.
DC Qadri mentioned that five of the injured were moved to Taluka Hospital in Bola Khan. However, he pointed out that the hospital lacks adequate resources for managing severe cases, referring to it as a basic health unit.
While the definitive cause of the accident is still undetermined, an investigation is currently in progress.
