BMW to Incorporate Chinese AI in New China Models

SHANGHAI: According to CEO Oliver Zipse at the Shanghai auto show on Wednesday, German automaker BMW intends to commence incorporating artificial intelligence from the Chinese startup DeepSeek into its new car models in China, beginning later this year.

BMW also plans to integrate Huawei’s smart-connect system into its China-manufactured vehicles by 2026.

“Significant advancements in AI are taking place here. We are strengthening partnerships in AI to integrate them into our vehicles in China,” he stated. “Starting later this year, we will introduce AI integration from DeepSeek in our new cars in China.”
