White’s 30 Points Propel Celtics to Victory

BOSTON: The Boston Celtics seized a 1-0 series lead in the NBA Playoffs, defeating the Orlando Magic 103-86 in Game 1 at TD Garden on Sunday.

Boston showcased a well-rounded effort, particularly on defense, restricting Orlando to under 20 points in both the third and fourth quarters.

Derrick White, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown spearheaded the Celtics’ attack with assertive play at both ends of the court.

Derrick White was the star, accumulating 30 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 36 minutes. His offensive consistency was key, establishing an early rhythm and making important shots throughout the game.

Jayson Tatum posted a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown contributed 16 points in 30 minutes, displaying his usual efficiency and hustle.

Kristaps Porziņģis and Jrue Holiday contributed defensively and in ball movement, even without high-scoring performances.

Together, they had 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Al Horford offered veteran leadership off the bench, and Payton Pritchard added 13 points in limited playing time.

Boston established their dominance early, outscoring the Magic 26-18 in the first quarter and maintaining control throughout. A 30-point fourth quarter solidified the Celtics’ comfortable victory.
