Gillespie Claims PCB Still Owes Him Remuneration

Jason Gillespie, the former head coach of Pakistan’s red-ball cricket team, has alleged that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to settle his outstanding payments.

Gillespie, an ex-Australian fast bowler, was appointed as the red-ball head coach in April of the previous year but stepped down from his position in December, citing disagreements with the cricket board.

Since his departure, Gillespie has become a prominent critic of the PCB’s operations.

In a recent interview with a sports outlet, the 50-year-old was asked about his rapport with the cricket board.

Gillespie stated that he harbors no animosity towards Pakistan cricket but disclosed that he is still awaiting payment for his nine-month tenure as head coach.

“To be frank, I am still awaiting some compensation for the work I already did. So, I’m trying to find my way through that,” Gillespie stated.

“I will say it has been somewhat disheartening. I am hoping it can be resolved as quickly as it can. I am really hoping this gets arranged without any further delay,” he added.

Earlier in the month, Gillespie revealed that his experience with the Pakistan men’s cricket team had negatively impacted his enthusiasm for coaching.

“The Pakistan experience has diminished my passion for coaching, to be honest. I’m confident I’ll recover it, but it was a significant setback,” Gillespie commented.

“I was deeply disappointed by how everything concluded.

“It has made me consider whether I want to continue coaching full time.”

Previously, he had also accused interim head coach Aqib Javed of undermining his authority and voiced concerns about the internal conflicts that plagued his time there.

“He was a joke,” he said plainly, in reference to Javed. “The internal politics and lack of harmony rendered the position untenable.”
