Finance Minister Aurangzeb Travels to US for World Bank and IMF Meetings

Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, embarked on a journey to the United States on Saturday to participate in the World Bank Group/International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings 2025.

According to a statement released by the finance ministry today, the meetings are scheduled to commence on April 21 (Monday) and will continue until April 26 (Saturday).

Key Meetings and Engagements

During his time in the US, the Finance Minister is expected to engage in discussions with high-ranking officials from both the World Bank and the IMF.

  • He will also be meeting with finance ministers and prominent leaders from several nations including China, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye.
  • Aurangzeb is also slated to connect with representatives from international credit rating agencies, along with executives from commercial and investment banking sectors.
Economic Outlook Address

Aurangzeb will present at various investment forums and seminars, focusing on underscoring the economic prospects of the country, as stated by the ministry.

He is also scheduled to take part in the 13th Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action and is slated to speak at a session organized by the Center for Global Development (CGD) about the ongoing reform initiatives in Pakistan, in addition to the obstacles that lie ahead.
