Mizuki Itagaki, Star of ‘Ao Haru Ride,’ Dies at 24

Mizuki Itagaki, recognized for his performance in the well-known live-action ‘Ao Haru Ride,’ has passed away at the age of 24.

The demise of the Japanese actor was communicated by his family this Thursday, April 17, through his official Instagram account.

“We regret to announce that actor Itagaki Mizuki has passed away due to an unforeseen incident,” the announcement stated.

“To all the supporters who showed him kindness, and to everyone he collaborated with, we extend our sincere appreciation,” the family conveyed in their statement.

Reportedly, Mizuki had been missing since the beginning of the year, and his body was recently located.

“The authorities persisted in their search, and recently, we were informed by the Tokyo police that his body was discovered within the city,” the family disclosed.

“Mizuki consistently worked diligently, aspiring to bring happiness to everyone through his acting,” the statement concluded.

Born in October 2000, Mizuki played leading roles in several Japanese movies, such as ‘Our Secret Diary,’ ‘Love’s Stoppage Time,’ and ‘In-House Marriage Honey.’
