Amid torrential rain in parts of the United Arab Emirates, authorities have advised Muslims to perform their daily prayers at home. In areas affected by the downpour, it is suggested that the Zuhr prayer could be combined with Asr, and Maghrib with Isha.
This recommendation comes from the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Abu Dhabi, aiming to ensure the safety of worshippers amidst the unfavorable weather conditions. The department issued a statement emphasizing that this arrangement is temporary and only for areas where prayers at the mosque might pose a risk due to the heavy rainfall.
In normal circumstances, Muslims are required to offer their five daily prayers at the mosque, but in times of inclement weather, it is permissible to pray at home under such guidance from local authorities. It is essential to remember that this provision is only applicable during extraordinary weather conditions and should not be considered a regular practice outside of these situations.
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department reiterated their commitment to ensuring the religious rights of Muslims in the UAE while prioritizing their safety during adverse weather events. They urge everyone to follow these guidelines to avoid any potential risks and maintain peace and harmony within the community.
