Punjab Extends Financial Support to Strengthen Balochistan’s Security
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced Rs10 billion in financial assistance for security forces operating in Balochistan. The announcement was made during her official visit to Quetta, where she attended a ceremony at the Frontier Corps Headquarters alongside Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the elimination of terrorism is only possible through national unity and collective resolve. She praised the sacrifices of security personnel who have been at the forefront of maintaining peace and stability in Balochistan, acknowledging their role in safeguarding the country against extremist threats.
This marked her first official visit to Balochistan since assuming office as Punjab’s Chief Minister. She reaffirmed Punjab’s commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with Balochistan, stressing that inter-provincial solidarity is essential for overcoming security and development challenges.
The announcement comes in the wake of recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan, which prompted intensified operations by security forces. Maryam Nawaz’s pledge of financial assistance highlights Punjab’s role in supporting national security efforts and strengthening cooperation between provinces.
