ECP Announces Date for Punjab Local Body Elections

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) delivered its judgment on Wednesday regarding the delayed local government elections in Punjab. The commission has stipulated that local government polls in Punjab will be conducted in the final week of December 2025.

The ECP bench, led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Raja Sultan, also decreed that the delimitation process must commence from Thursday.

The ECP bench also comprises Nisar Durrani, Shah Muhammad Jatoi, and Babar Hassan Bharwana.

“The Election Commission will conduct Punjab’s local body elections in accordance with the 2022 legislation,” the bench stated in its ruling.
