Tragic Accident in Shikarpur Claims Lives
In a devastating incident near Shikarpur, a truck veered out of control, resulting in the deaths of at least seven individuals and injuries to six others. The accident occurred on the National Highway bypass, police confirmed on Saturday.
According to authorities, the truck, laden with vegetables, lost control and collided with an electricity pole. Subsequently, it ran over people who were resting by the roadside. The deceased were identified as local farmers taking a break near the bypass.
Emergency services and law enforcement responded swiftly, transporting the deceased and injured to Civil Hospital in Shikarpur.
Police have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
This incident follows two separate accidents in Balochistan earlier in the week, where a total of 13 lives were lost, including women and children, and numerous others sustained injuries.
Local officials reported that six people died and 17 suffered serious injuries when a passenger bus collided with a truck near Zero Point in Uthal, Lasbela.
Additionally, seven more individuals died, and 16 were injured in a separate bus accident in Hub-Winder.
Deadly road accidents are unfortunately frequent in Pakistan, often attributed to lax enforcement of traffic regulations and the deteriorated condition of roads in many rural regions.
