Amorim Faces Mounting Pressure at Manchester United After Brentford Defeat

Following a 3-1 loss to Brentford in their recent Premier League match, Ruben Amorim is reportedly ‘under pressure’ as Manchester United prepares to host Sunderland on Saturday, according to international reports released on Tuesday.

Since Amorim’s arrival in November, Manchester United has suffered 17 defeats in 33 Premier League games, leaving them in 14th place before Sunderland’s visit.

According to information, club officials maintain they are not currently considering replacements and wish to allow the 40-year-old time to improve the team’s performance. Speculation that co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already engaged with Gareth Southgate has also been dismissed.

Prior to Amorim’s hiring, the club explored several candidates. Southgate was among those considered as a potential replacement for Erik Ten Hag, but United eventually chose Amorim.

Since the Brentford game, preparations at Carrington have proceeded normally. Amorim and his family attended an open day on Sunday, an event planned before the season to provide families, staff, and players with a tour of the newly renovated training facilities.

The team was reportedly given a day off on Monday before resuming training in preparation for Sunderland’s visit.

United’s schedule provides little immediate relief. The Sunderland match at Old Trafford precedes a two-week international break. Upon resuming play, United will travel to face Liverpool on October 19 and host Brighton on October 25.

Sunderland’s arrival presents the head coach with a crucial chance to halt the decline and strengthen his position. Both internal and external expectations remain significant as Manchester United aims to recover their season.
