Leaders Discuss Economic, Trade, and Energy Cooperation

In a major step towards strengthening bilateral ties, Pakistan and Azerbaijan signed multiple agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during a high-profile meeting attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The agreements cover diverse sectors, including energy, trade, and cultural cooperation.

LNG Trade and Energy Sector Collaboration

A significant milestone in the discussions was the amendment to the LNG purchase framework agreement, ensuring smoother energy trade between the two nations. Additionally, an MoU was signed between Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) and Pakistan Refinery Limited, further solidifying energy cooperation.

Another crucial agreement was between SOCAR and Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for the Machike–Thalian White Oil Pipeline Project, which will enhance Pakistan’s energy infrastructure and fuel transportation efficiency.
